| Peter Dahl Thruelsen is research fellow at the Institute for Strategy at the Royal Danish Defence College, where he also serves as lecturer at Joint Senior Staff Course. Together with this he is a doctoral candidate at the Department of Political Science, University of Copenhagen, where he also received his BA and MA. He has served for approximately ten years in the Danish Army, including being stationed with mechanised infantry units in the United Nations Protection Force (UNPROFOR) in 1994, NATO Stabilization Force (SFOR) in Bosnia in 1997-98, and NATO Kosovo Force (KFOR) in Kosovo in 1999-2000. His primary research interests include Nation-Building and Security Sector Reform in Afghanistan, Counterinsurgency and Peace Support Operations. Peters Ph.D.-research project titles "How to enhance the strategy and effect of the military contribution to nation-building - A study of the international military involvement in post conflict nation-building in Afghanistan". | | Peter Dahl Thruelsen arbejder som forskningsmedarbejder ved Institut for Strategi, Forsvarsakademiet, hvor han også underviser på Stabskursus for militære ledere. Derudover er han indskrevet som ph.d.-studerende ved Institut for Statskundskab, Københavns Universitet, hvorfra Peter også modtog sin kandidatgrad som Cand.scient.pol. i 2005. Før Peter påbegyndte sin universitetsuddannelse i 2000 arbejdede han i en årrække år i hæren, hvor han gjorde international tjeneste i United Nations Protection Force (UNPROFOR) i 1994, NATO Stabilization Force (SFOR) i Bosnien i 1997-98, og i NATO Kosovo Force (KFOR) i 1999-2000.
Peters primære forskningsområde er konflikthåndtering herunder nationsbygning, sikkerhedssektorreformer, fredsstøttende operationer og oprørsbekæmpelse. Yderligere arbejder Peter intenst med konflikten i Afghanistan og det internationale samfunds engagement heri. Peters ph.d.-projekt har titlen: "How to enhance the strategy and effect of the military contribution to nation-building - A study of the international military involvement in post conflict nation-building in Afghanistan". |
